It wasn't so long ago that Minneapolis was the envy of the U.S. advertising scene. Nowdays, it really feels like the mojo has left.

Here's to hoping the small and midsize players can bring back the joy. I'm rooting for carmichael and colle, too.

I miss the old Fallon. I bet Fallon misses the old Fallon, too.

I don't reckon a shrimp on the barbie and a can of Fosters is going to fix Minneapolis, mate. Crikey!

The problem is hiring any CD who ever worked in Singapore or Hong Kong and padded their resume with fake awards for battery and toy car accounts. It never works and Fallon deserves better than this.

    Apparently so too in;
    San Francisco
    Los Angeles
    Austin
    Detroit
Oh crimey... even Chicago... they're all spent (for the most part)
    and belly up (creatively speaking).

    What happened to Barrie/D'Rosario/Murphy?

I guess it's HARD TIMES all over?
Not sure that old notion of many regional hot shops will thrive?
No ROOM AT THE INN for all these local heroes?
Only National hot-shots will flower in our forward!

Think of all the angst and treasure that big agencies have spent to
try to enhance their fate? Only to fall prey to the quarterly
knock at the door: PROFITS UBERALIS! They keep raiding the farm
    ibringing in the Disciples of;
    Clow
    Wieden
    Bogusky
    Goodby
betting the farm that in turn-key fashion these stars
will do here, what they once did there!

    They never learn!

    Needs Direct Sun Light!
    Store in Cool Dry Place!
    Water Frequently!

    Not all transplants flourish universally.

Does Lubars still have an office?

    If so, why?

The real talent left (or was let go) in the layoffs from 2001 - 2002. The rest is just leftovers. The real talent lives on at BDM, Duffy, Mono, Design Cue, Space 150, and a bunch of interactive went to Olson. And all the single interactive talents like Andy Guggle, Flatt, Sandau, Park, are still here in Mpls. doing there own thing. Check out Andy's site. (Kevin is at ARC in Chicago)

Pat Fallon, Rob Buchner and the executive team had no idea what they had. It was like Xerox PARC at Fallon in those days. I was there, I saw it come, I saw it go.

(some names might be misspelled, sorry - but you know who they are)

Wiggin's will be greatly missed, yet again.

Roberto Lastro was the first one to leave. He's at CPB now. He was one of the creatives that did a lot of the best work this year for Fallon. Starting with the We are fallon project which prompted ex-Fallon alumni to donate their awards to be melted to make a plaque for the new building. He must of known something

The "We Are Fallon" project was a f'in insult to all of us Ex-Falloner's who won creative awards for Pat. F"U. Melt down our awards and let some fuck head over-see the agency. F'U Jr.

fallon uk is infinitely better anyways. 'we are fallon' started there years ago - for f's sake, they had another small shop even design their site then. backwards.

"Why did he leave?" I don't believe he had a say in it. Fact check please.

    Al Kelly left voluntarily. Riiiight.
