mediabistro.com: AgencySpy: Donny Deutsch Thinks the Texting-While-Driving PSA is Like, The Best Spot Ever - mediabistro.com: AgencySpy

I think this ad is beautiful. I keep waiting to get hit by one of these idiots. Our politicians are failing us on so many levels. This one should be easy for them. Pass legislation quickly and begin a series of PSA's in the US. As it is I've been hit by a woman on a cell-phone that was not paying attention. The current generation of teen driver's seem to believe there is nothing wrong with texting while driving. We need a bigger discussion of this in the media and parents need to take more responsibility for raising their children.

I also hate the women that attempt to put on makeup/nails/hair while driving. Just this summer in Chicago. A man was killed when a woman rear ended him at a stoplight while she was doing her nails.

And I think this one is just as good, but for another auto safety issue.

Wanted to post this earlier. Just as gruesome!

Not entirely sure what that post was about, I'm english, but I do know that the poor people puking as you put it should thank their lucky stars that they're not one of the paramedics who attend these scenes on a daily basis. Becuase that ad is tame. Shocking for mere mortals, yes. But tame when compared to reality.

This should go out on TV. If it keeps people awake at night thinking about it, then even better, because we're too protected from the reality. Which is partly the problemo on our roads. Perceived safety resulting from over-censorship.

    There, soap box done with.

I have seen this spot at least five times today on the networks, discussing it's affectiveness. I totally agree with Donny on this spot. It is meant to be 'in your face' so you get the message - it's about life or death... period. Kids think they are bulletproof..... this spot makes that argument 'dead on' .

Matt: I'm disrupting my vacation for this, but the New York Times just had a whole series on what a massive danger texting while driving is: it raises the crash risk 23 times. The articles talked about how people blow through red lights without even realizing they have and how phone companies are pressuring politicians to stop passing laws prohibiting texting and driving.

Here's a link. You may want to consider reposting these videos with that-- rather than Donny Deutsch-- as the hook.

I think it's fantastic, if a bit too long. The fact that others get hurt - not just her friends in her car - and shown in the way of "Why won't mommy and daddy wake up" and a baby that won't blink is the shocking reminder to narcissistic teens that you're not alone on the road kids. I never thought that I'd agree 100% with Donny but he's right.
