The 90 day probation is likely in the contract. Look for marketing managers to keep pushing back presentation dates due to 'scheduling conflicts' to oh, I don't know, September.

It's game over people.... they had 2 years to turn this around.. you think they are gonna do it in 90 days?
  • Joseph · 8 months ago
Wait a minute, here..."Y&R CEO Peter Stringham visited the Austin office yesterday to update staff there on this situation, stating that the agency is to focus on nothing but Dell for the next 90 days. The phrase "double down" has been used."
I thought the ONLY purpose of Enfatico WAS to focus on nothing but Dell since day 1...

This maybe the best work Mother NY has done for Dell to date.
  • Turtle · 8 months ago
News flash: the new branding for Dell, i.e. logo, logo treatments, fonts, etc..was delivered by Mother and it sat on Micheal Dell's desk for over a week b/c he was so unhappy about it.

He hated it and I, as an Enfatico employee had to go back and forth and back and forth b/c the work we were putting out had to be consistent and he was giving double messages.

Mother isnt safe, no one is...Dell is just, well, Dell.

Mother NY has a bunch of Dell bought work in the pipeline. Somehow a small agency is doing the spots that you would have thought Enfactio would be able to make ONE spot in 2 years.
  • Da Truth · 8 months ago
So there you have it Casey Jones. I read your AdAge response with the usual delusional verbiage. You must be related Karl Rove?
  • FRV · 8 months ago
No agency can win with Dell long term. Dell needs a scapegoat for the ongoing failure of their standard tactic-of-the-moment, message du jour marketing approach. BTW, Mother isn't in the best position either. They might be producing ads, but unless that business turns around, no agency is safe.

Which agency did the creative for that weird Adamo campaign?
  • yep · 8 months ago
    That was Enfatico.
  • JKR · 8 months ago
Wrong! Enfatico may have paid the bill, but Schematic did the creative. Go figure, another WPP company. Rumor has it they're trying to steal the Dell account... sounds like they're in a lot of hot water as well if Dell goes elsewhere
  • ausofc · 8 months ago
Wrong again! It was some agency or Enfatico office across the world. Schematic may have just done the website with Enfatico creative.
  • Turtle · 8 months ago
I am a former employee and Schematic did the work, I was there the whole time...Enfatico (where I was) had to follow the coattails and apply it to other digital vehicles.

I would like to see Enfatico succeed. But I don't know how they can with a client like Dell. The culture at that place is the lowest form of Dilbertian corporate hell. Everyone there wants out. None of the people who interact with the agencies gives a shit about the creative. I've interviewed so many people from there over the years and never heard one single positive thing.
  • ausofc · 8 months ago
You are absolutely correct. Part of the problem was that too many people from Dell came to Enfatico. The sh*t rolls from Dell to Enfatico and they just have to take it. They don't know any better, it's Dell culture (abusive, basically).

    Guys,

Both parties have equal blame but it started at the top on both sides.

Mat... Matt... Matt... You actually have the balls to say... "but Dell is very unhappy, we're told, hence all this hullabaloo." I have been posting this for over a year and a half.... My AdScam spies are much deeper into the woodwork than any of yours. Not to toot my horn here... But I said nine months ago that Enfatico would be rolled into either Grey or Y&R, 'cos the business model is fucked, and Michael Dell has refused to meet with most of the Enfatico senior management... Particularly the creatives!!! The only bright spot of this whole fiasco will be when the place is finally closed down, Enfatico's senior wankers, who think they are going to walk with huge golden parachutes, will discover that the Poisoned Dwarf's army of lawyers have fucked them in the arse. So, Matt, before you write anything further on Enfatico... Check with me first... I know where the nasty pits are hidden.
    Cheers/George
