helllooooooo! do you live under a rock? HIGH SCHOOLS have deals with brands.

i ran an event program for vitaminwater several years ago. it was aimed at high school students and we were holding events on high school campuses across the country. a lot of schools would not participate because they had contracts with coca cola or pepsi as their beverage franchise and didn't want to put their relationship (with all the attendant $ and perks) in jeopardy. it was really sad, especially because the grand prize for the event was a hundred thousand dollar scholarship to go to tuition for the college of the winner's choice.

More of a testament to how bad the system is than anything. Did they really expect Air Jordan's son to wear Addidas?

Really? Are you that naive?
Of course they can, they had a five year contract where all the school's athletes would only wear Adidas gear during games and in return the school got $3 million. It's the way all college sports contracts work. Been that way for years. Nothing new.
