The fact that he used a track by Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields makes this even niftier. Nice job.

"...remind you of anything" should have a question mark at the end.

sounds nice, looks pretty cool (love the projection on walls/ceiling)...but wonder what good it actually does puma? who will actually see this, aside from a couple of thousand ad people on the web? will it really reach and influence any potential buyers?

looks more like something made for awards show entries.

That's what I was thinking... what's the point? And who cares?

Looks cool though. I like to look at shiny objects.

Wow talk about self-indulgent! They even wasted more money by hiring fame photographer Nadav Kandar! Crazy.
  • Train of thought! · 9 months ago
Shit! I don't have an idea.

Let's do something that looks vaguely gondry-esqe with some hotties. Maybe with an American Apparel vibe.

Could we put in a couple fucking? But with clothes mysteriously ON?

Sure, but it'll only run online.

Yeah. I like that. We might get 25,000 views on youtube! And like FIVE subscribers to the channel. Could we spend like, a million bucks?

Sure. That way, we'll have enough client cash left over to make a "behind the scenes" video for awards shows.

    Done.

Wait. Doesn't that mean that we spent like FORTY BUCKS per anonymous view?

What's your point? We'll get big press if we use a famous photographer.

    What's the brand again?

    Who cares?

Pro: This is really well executed and fun to watch. Serious eye candy.

Con: Not to be a stickler, but it doesn't make a huge amount of sense. The shoes are LITE foam injected sneakers, not LIGHT foam injected sneakers. I think the point is supposed to be that they're lightweight, not that they have anything to do with actually honest-to-god light.

So an 8.5 for creative coolness and a 2.5 for logic.

    So many haters.

if it's truly LITE injected footwear (as in lightweight) and not LITE injected footwear (as in daylight from the sun) that is pretty bad. Then it's not just eye-candy without a concept...it's eye-candy whose concept makes no sense.

Hater here. Self-indulgent crap. Impressed that they were able to get someone to pay for it though.
  • Don · 9 months ago
Advertising just doesn't had the deep meaning we all thought it did. Just eye candy is good enough now and probably the right thing to do.
  • Jo Jo Beanie · 9 months ago
agree that sometimes eye candy is enough. so long as it's fresh and watchable. I think this qualifies.

and yeah...there really are a ton of haters in this biz. would you all be so embarrassed to have this on your reel? I wouldn't.
  • todd · 9 months ago
I would be embarrassed. It doesn't make any bloody sense. We are above execution for execution alone. Other-wise we are not conceptual and intelligent or bringing real quality to our clients. Droga5 knows this.
  • Dale B. · 9 months ago
Huh. Which client was it for?
